Portuguese Foreign Language Course (Non Degree Course)
1st Semester - 2026/2027
Lesson Period – 12 th of October, 2026 to 22nd of January, 2027
All language courses are optional formation programmes, open to the community, for those over 17 years of age, and do not necessarily follow the university's academic calendar.
Levels and schedules:
Level A1 (20 places) – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Mondays – Classroom 1.03
Wednesdays – Classroom 1.04
Level A2 (40 places) – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Tuesdays – Classrooms 1.03 and 1.05
Thursdays – Classrooms 1.03 and 1.05
Level B1 – Closed (Available in the 2nd semester)
Level B2 (20 places) – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Tuesdays – Classroom 1.01
Thursdays – Classroom 1.01
Classrooms - Faculty of Arts and Letters (information will be available at the Main Entrance of Building 1, and at the Secretariat of the Department of Letters)
Placement:
Minimum enrollment for the course to run – 5 places (fewer than this will result in the language level not being offered)
Maximum enrollment – 20 places
Fees:
Registration fee - according to the Academic Services’ fee table
Course fee - UBI Community (Students/Researchers/Staff) – €50
Course fee - Community external to UBI – €100
Course fee exemption: students enrolled in the UC “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16957), as part of their study plan. Attention: enrollment in this UC must be completed, in the Academic Services, by the 28th of September 2026, before the application submission deadline.

1st STEP
Language level assessment test (MANDATORY) – to the 24th to the 26th of September, 2026 (results reported by email until the 29th of September).

Candidates will receive, via email, a document confirming the completion of the test and recommend level.
It is mandatory to send this document to cfiute@ubi.pt during the application period (read “2nd step - Applications” carefully). Failure to send this document will result in the exclusion of your application.

2nd STEP
Application – from the 30thof September to the 4th of October, 2026 (online)
ATTENTION: Before submitting your application, please check the schedule for each level. Each level has 20 places. Levels will be open if there is a minimum of 5 students.

Attention: Enrollment in the course “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16957), as part of a study plan, constitutes a preferential criterion for placement/sequence.

ATTENTION: When you formalize your registration, it is mandatory to pay the course fee in a single instalment (when applicable). Registration cancellations will not be accepted.

Registration fee – when applicable and according to the Academic Services’ fee table
Course fee - UBI Community (Students/Researchers/Staff) – €50
Course fee - Community external to UBI– €100
Course fee exemption: UBI students enrolled in the CU “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16957), as part of their study plan. Attention: enrollment in this CU must be completed, in the Academic Services, by the 28th of September, before the application submission deadline.
