Portuguese Foreign Language Course (Non Degree Course)
2nd Semester - 2025/2026
Lesson Period – 23th of February to the 9th June, 2026
All language courses are optional formation programmes, open to the community, for those over 17 years of age, and do not necessarily follow the university's academic calendar.
Levels, places, and schedules:
Level A1 (20 places) – Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 pm –8:00 pm
Level A2 (40 places) – Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 pm –8:00 pm
Level B1 (20 places) – Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 pm –8:00 pm
Classrooms - Faculty of Arts and Letters (information will be available at the Main Entrance of Building 1, at the Letters Secretariat and will be published online www.ple.ubi.pt).
Fees:
Registration fee - according to the Academic Services’ fee table
Course fee - UBI Community (Students/Researchers/Staff) – €50
Course fee - Community external to UBI – €100
Course fee exemption: students enrolled in the UC “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16953), as part of their study plan. Attention: enrollment in this UC must be completed, in the Academic Services, by the 12th of February 2026, before the application submission deadline.
APPLICATION AND ENROLLMENT GUIDE
Follow 4 simple steps:
1st STEP
Language level assessment test (MANDATORY) – to the 3rd to the 5th of February, 2026 (results reported by email until the 9th of February).

Candidates will receive, via email, a document confirming the completion of the test and recommend level.
It is mandatory to send this document to CFIUTE during the application period (read “2nd step - Applications” carefully). Failure to submit this document will result in the exclusion of your application.

2nd STEP
Application – from the 10th to the 12th of February, 2026 (online)
ATTENTION: Before submitting your application, please check the schedule for each level. Each level has 20 spaces. Levels will be open if there is a minimum of 5 students.

Level B1 -
Attention: after submitting your application on the platform, the document certifying that you took the test must be sent to the email cfiute@ubi.pt (subject of the e-mail - “Application for a Language Course”).
Placement notice (Application results) – until the 16th of February, 2026.
Attention: Enrollment in the course “Língua Estrangeira” (code 16957), as part of a study plan, constitutes a preferential criterion for placement/sequence.

ATTENTION: When you formalize your registration, it is mandatory to pay the course fee in a single instalment (when applicable). Registration cancellations will not be accepted.
